Por essa causa ocorrem os pecados diários das fraquezas e há imperfeições até mesmo nas melhores obras dos santos. Para eles essas coisas são motivo permanente para se humilharem diante de Deus, para se refugiarem no Cristo crucificado, para mortificarem a carne cada vez mais mediante o Espírito de oração e através de santos exercícios de piedade, e para ansiarem e se esforçarem pelo alvo da perfeição até que finalmente, livres do corpo dessa morte, reinem com o Cordeiro de Deus no céu.
