## **Pergunta 40. Por que foi necessário que Cristo se humilhasse até à morte?**

Resposta. Por causa da justiça e da verdade de Deus1 a satisfação pelos nossos pecados não poderia ocorrer de outra forma senão pela morte do Filho de Deus.2\

## **Pergunta 43. Que outros benefícios recebemos do sacrifício e morte de Cristo na cruz?**

## **Pergunta 44. Por que razão se acrescenta: “desceu ao inferno”?**
