## **Pergunta 99. O que se exige no terceiro mandamento?**

Resposta. Que não blasfememos nem façamos mau uso o Nome de Deus por maldição,1 perjúrio2 ou votos desnecessários,3 e que não participemos, por omissão silenciosa, desses terríveis pecados.4 Antes devemos usar o santo nome de Deus somente com temor e reverência,5 para que possamos confessá-lO corretamente,6 invocá-lO,7 e O glorificar com todas as nossas palavras e obras.8\

## **Pergunta 100. Será que blasfemar o Nome de Deus por juramentos e maldições é um pecado tão grande que Deus se ira também contra aqueles que não impedem nem proíbem isso o tanto quanto podem?**

Resposta. Certamente que sim.1 Porque nenhum pecado é maior nem provoca mais a ira de Deus do que blasfemar o Seu Nome. É por isso que Ele ordenou que esse pecado fosse punido com a morte.2\
